Prior to embarking on his current musical journey, Kaufmann was a successful lawyer and businessman for nearly half a century. On his debut record, Just In Time, Dick was directed by Lee Musiker — who is best known for his work with Grammy Award and Emmy Award winner Tony Bennett and Tony Award winner Barbara Cook. Kaufmann is a lifelong resident of Washington, DC.
